To celebrate Halloween our final Curated Collection for the year is RODENT themed! Inspired by our AFTRS Library Presents... film screening of Nicolas Roeg's The Witches (1990) 🪄🍫🐁🐁
Designed, built and decorated by our Engagement and Outreach Librarian, Raquel, it honours this hair-raising film adapted from Roald Dahl's classic children's book by taking inspiration from the film's 4 star hotel setting. Whether you find it frightening or fascinating, there's one thing we can all agree on: it continues to be formative film viewing for all children.
Likewise, taking inspiration from the Laura Ashley-style decor of the era, our mouse-infested display is equal parts cute and creepy. You may do a double take at the table setting, featuring those little boys-turned-to-mice, still gobbling up the Grand High Witches' spiked chocolate!!
