Exit Clearance Deadlines

2023  Graduands:  what you must return 

All completing students must complete your Exit Clearance as outlined in the Student Handbook.

If you do not return all required items listed below, you will not receive your Academic Transcript or Testamur until these items are returned.  

So please read and action by the required dates.  Fines will be incurred for any item not returned/lost and you may not be eligible to Graduate

If you want to check what you have outstanding, or if you have any items outstanding , then please contact the relevant department to check :  Library, Tech Store, Service Desk, Post Production, Finance or Student Centre (locker keys).

If you have recently returned items, then please just send an email to studentinfo@aftrs.edu.au  to let us know so we can ensure we have accounted for them.

Locker Key  

If you have any concerns about returning by due date, please reach out to the Student Centre to discuss. 

  • Your locker key can be mailed back to Student Centre, AFTRS @ PO Box 2286 Strawberry Hills NSW 2010
  • OR can be returned to the RED BOX sitting outside Student Centre on campus  - please make sure you mark on your locker key number if you don’t have the original number tag – so we know who it belonged to
  • You can return to Reception if you put in an envelope with your name/student number on it : we don’t want to lose track of these items
Student Card 

This will likely be the last thing you will return

  • Your student card can be mailed back to Student Centre, AFTRS @ PO Box 2286 Strawberry Hills NSW 2010
  • OR can be returned to the RED BOX sitting outside Student Centre on campus  - if you remove the top photo section, you MUST identify who the white security card so we know who it belonged to
  • You can return to Reception if you put in an envelope with your name/student number on it : we don’t want to lose track of these items
  • If you have been confirmed for Post Production work past 29 March you still need to return your card AND you will be issued another AFTRS card to use for any work beyond this date

Laptop & Equipment Loans to be returned by February

Laptop Loans from Service Desk/Student Centre 
  • If you have an AFTRS laptop on short term or long term loan, this must be returned by 1 February 2024.
  • Any other computer equipment - computer cords, monitors - that you may have out on Loan from Service Desk must also be returned by end of your Graduand period 29 March 2024.
  • If you still require your laptop , then you must reach out to the Student Centre before the end of this year to discuss.
Return any Tech Store Equipment or Post Production 
  • You must return any items you currently have out on loan from Post Production or Tech Store before the end of the year:  if you are unable to return in 2023, then you must set a clear return date with Tech Store or Post Production . 
  • Hard Drives borrowed from Post Production must be returned or there will be a fine to be paid.
  • If you require equipment post production work from February, then this must be organised with Production Team 
  • If you have lost an item, then please liaise with the Tech Store:  there may be a fine to be paid

Library Loans to be returned by end March

Library Items 

If you aren't sure if you have any items still on loan, please contact the library to check: 

The library will be following up via email to your AFTRS email to any students who have outstanding items on loan. 

Fines will be issued for any items that you do not return by 29 March 2024 and you may not be able to graduate if you do not pay those fines.

Library Access

You can still access the Library both on-site and online (including streaming services) until 29 March 2024

  • Once your course has finished you can become an Alumni member and continue to have access to the Library, further information will be sent out in next year.
  • Please return any outstanding Library items before deadline

*Return of all library items and settlement of lost/late fees is a requirement of the Exit Policy

Outstanding Debts to be paid by end March

Any outstanding AFTRS debt 

RETURN ANY MONIES OWED TO AFTRS FROM OUTSTANDING INVOICES OR FINES

  • This may include printing costs incurred or any charges paid for by the school on your behalf for any BAY3 or MASY2 production
  • These debts must be repaid to Finance before 29 March 2024
  • If you are unable to pay before due date, please email Finance directly to have a discussion regarding a repayment plan : email finance@aftrs.edu.au

Travel Concessions expire 20 Dec 23

Travel Concessions 

If you have a concession Opal Card, your student access will finish 20 December 2023, the date of the final Grade Panels. 

This date is listed with Transport NSW and while your Opal Card and student card still seem valid, your travel concession is not. 

If you are still travelling to and from AFTRS from now until end December, then you may need to get a new facing for your Student Card to show 20 December end date.  Please see Cathy at Reception to organise.   

You may have received an email from Transport NSW saying your travel concession expires in November :  this was the original end date uploaded to Transport NSW when we issued travel concessions but we have updated with Transport NSW now until 20 December 2023. 

Masters Space to be cleared by February

Packing up the Masters Space by 1 Feb 2024

From Orientation Week 19 February 2024, the Masters space will have some new tenants as the new MASY1 students arrive.

By the end of  January, all MASY2  Graduands must clear up their space, gather personal items and empty lockers. 

This timeframe will allow us to clean up and reset the space for new students and progressing students. 

MAS Graduands who are still working on Capstone are still able to use Masters Space into February but must be mindful of new MAS students from Orientation Week onwards. 

Office 365

 Your AFTRS Email and Office 365 Access remains till 29 March 2024

You will continue to have access to your AFTRS email and Office 365 account as well as your email groups for any Graduand or School wide emails that are sent out during the Graduand period.

We suggest that you start saving /forwarding any AFTRS emails you want to keep to your personal email next year as well as any documents saved on your One Drive account.  Don't forget to copy your email contacts list as well.
