CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to students who are due to complete their course this year

Once you have finished your studies, and on successful completion of your subjects, you become AFTRS Graduands. There is information on this site regarding Exit Date,  Academic Documents and Graduand Access so please read and contact Student Centre if you have any questions.

GRADUATION IS CONFIRMED AS FRIDAY 29 MAY 2026 

More information on Graduation will be sent to you directly from Events and this site updated next year with more information

Graduand Survey  

One of your last surveys at AFTRS will be to confirm your contact details, current residential address as well as if you have a preferred name to use on stage at Graduation in 2026 . Please take a few minutes to complete by 22 Dec 2025 and thank you.  

 

EXITING YOUR COURSE  - 22 DECEMBER 2025

As outlined in the Student Handbook, this date when access to AFTRS systems and the school ends and you must have returned any loan items to AFTRS as listed below under Exit Tasks.

The following systems will expire on exit date 

ACCESS TO AFTRS SYSTEMS
  • Email, teams, Office 365, Moodle
  • Download and store all file components on your projects that you want to keep from any AFTRS devices or cloud storage locations - for more info on how to do this click here
  • Save or forward any AFTRS emails you want to keep to your personal email.  Don't forget to copy your email contacts list as well. 
  • If you need any help in saving documentation, please reach out to the Service Desk (02) 9805 6456 
ADOBE CREATIVE CLOUD
  • Now is the time to start saving any emails/projects/documents that you want to keep and please log out of your Adobe account before returning Student Card
TRAVEL CONCESSION
  • If you will still be using travel concession to travel to AFTRS until exit date, you may have your Student Card end date updated to show 22 December 2025.  For more information click here 
  • Please see Cathy at Reception to organise.   

ACCESS TO AFTRS BUILDING &

MASTERS SPACE 
  • MAS students must clear out their space in the Masters Area by 15 December and return any items loaned from Building or Props Store.  For more information click here 

 

After your exit is complete, you are welcome to come back in and work/socialise in the AFTRS foyer and/or library and can have access to use the Visitor’s Wi-Fi. We also encourage you to stop by the Student Centre to say hi and have a chat.

EXIT TASKS & RETURNS DUE BY 22 DECEMBER 2025

 

If you have any of the following, you must return by the Exit date set in order to be eligible to Graduate. 

  • This is the Exit information as outlined in the Student Handbook. 
  •  Fines will be incurred for any item not returned/lost  - see next page for fine $
  • If you need extension to complete exit clearance please contact Student Centre

 

RETURN YOUR STUDENT CARD AND LOCKER KEY
  • These two items can be mailed back to Student Centre, AFTRS @ PO Box 2286 Strawberry Hills NSW 2010
  • OR can be returned to the RED BOX sitting outside Student Centre at AFTRS Sydney  - make sure you mark on your locker key number if you don’t have the original number tag – so we know who it belonged to
RETURN ANY LIBRARY ITEMS YOU HAVE OUT ON LOAN
RETURN ANY TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT ON LOAN FROM TECH STORE
  • Return any items you currently have out on loan from Tech Store
RETURN ANY LOANS FROM SERVICE DESK OR POST PRODUCTION
  • Hard Drives or laptops (long term via Student Centre or short term via IT) 
  • any other equipment borrowed from Service Desk or Post Production.
PAY ANY OUTSTANDING FINES 
  • These debts must be repaid to Finance before exit clearance date
  • Call Finance to have a discussion regarding a repayment plan : email finance@aftrs.edu.au
PRODUCTION COMPONENTS REQUIRED 
  • Post teams ( and producers and directors ) must deliver production components/ files with a confirmation form to confirm delivery of these for archiving. 
  • Both files relate to requirements for our RDA with NAA and also for materials that AFTSR wishes to retain.

FINAL GRADES RELEASED

Your final marks and completion of your studies is confirmed at the end of semester and be released on Paradigm prior to Exit date. 

Prior to formal completion and graduation, if required, the Student Centre can issue you with a confirmation of completion letter and you may generate a statement of results in the Student Management System - this will show that you have completed your subjects, and that you are scheduled to graduate.
