Covid -19 Support

There's no denying that the COVID-19 pandemic has had dramatic impact on many aspects of our lives over the last 18 months. To bring this pandemic to an end, a large share of the world needs to be immune to the virus that causes COVID-19. It is important that everyone arm themselves again COVID-19 as soon as they can.

The COVID-19 vaccine has already saved thousands of lives by preventing the spread of the virus. Vaccinated people are far less likely to get symptoms from COVID-19. They are even more unlikely to get seriously ill, be admitted to hospital or die from it.

There is a lot of information out there regarding vaccinations, but understanding who is eligible for what and accessing vaccination appointments doesn’t always seem simple – so to make it easier, we have collated some information and links to help you find a vaccination appointment.

At present there are two COVID-19 vaccines available in Australia, Pfizer and AstraZeneca. Both vaccines are highly effective at preventing serious illness from COVID-19. Both have very rare side effects.

You need 2 doses of the same vaccine at 2 appointments to complete the vaccination. Two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine will provide around 90% protection from hospitalisation and death from COVID-19.

  • When you receive your first dose, make sure you have an appointment booked for the second dose.
  • Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses are recommended to be given at least 3 weeks apart.
  • Everyone in NSW can now receive their second AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine dose 4 to 8 weeks after the first dose.
  • If you have had your first dose of AstraZeneca more than 4 weeks ago, contact your GP to discuss bringing forward your appointment.
