Does the AFTRS Library have eBooks?

Yes, the AFTRS Library has a number of subscriptions to services that provide ebooks, plus there are over 800 ebooks available via the AFTRS Library catalogue.

You can request eBooks through the following databases. 

 

How long can I borrow e-Books for?

 e-Books can be read online without borrowing or borrowed from 24 hours or up to 7 days.

How do I return an e-Book I have borrowed?

e-Books will automatically be inaccessible after your loan period has expired.

What is DRM?

Digital Rights Management or DRM is a type of technology that publishers, copyright holders and individuals use to limit the use of digital content , such as e-Books after sale.

Can I print or copy the e-Book?

There is a limit to how much can be printed or copied from an e-Book, and this is governed by the Digital Rights Management (DRM) access control attached to the e-Book you are copying or printing. You are able to copy up to 5% of the e-Book and print up to 20%.

How many e-Books can I borrow?

e-Books cannot be renewed, if you would like the e-book again you will need to reborrow it.

What is the difference between PDF and ePUB versions of an e-Book?

ePUB is a format developed by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) as the e-Book standard. Based on XHTML scripting allows the e-Book to be resized to fix the output device (eg. E-reader, iPad, computer).

PDF is a file format where a document will look the same independent of application software, hardware and operating system.
