ACMI: Virtual Cinémathèque

For those who are missing the joy of being in the cinema, ACMI are organising a weekly night at home. The Virtual Cinémathèque will stick to a weekly calendar format of double bills that showcases classic and contemporary films on specific directors, performers or a thematic.

Every Tuesday ACMI will release details of their Virtual Cinémathèque via ACMI's and Melbourne Cinémathèque's social media. The films will be chosen by the Melbourne Cinémathèque Committee and ACMI's Film Department and where possible, they’ll have accompanying annotations and introductions for screenings.

These will mostly be chosen from freely available and accessible platforms - and for those who want to recreate the communal experience of watching as a collective - there is a free program called Metastream that allows you to invite your friends to watch at the same time, from your respective homes.
