Alternative Exit

The Alternative Exit Qualification Awards are available to students who are withdrawing from their enrolled course of study and have successfully completed the required semester subjects. A student may request for early exit qualification from their course via an approved early exit point, provided the requirements of the lower course are met.

The student must apply for early exit through the Student Centre and can apply at any time of year. The Student Centre will process this application which is then assessed by the Director of People and Culture. Following this, approval for degree conferral is required from Academic Board and the AFTRS Council and will occur twice a year, in the February/March and August/September periods.

The Alternative Exit degree is exit only and not related to any alternative re-entry entrance requirements that may exist in the future. The units of study completed can only be used for one degree qualification.

Once approved, Student Centre will issue a TESTAMUR as per Australian Qualifications Framework Issuance Policy, and an Academic Transcript issued in the legal name as provided by the student at enrolment, and these will be mailed out via Registered Post.

The criteria of the AFTRS Exit Clearance process will apply to any Alternative Exit applications. You will not be able to graduate or receive your Academic Transcript or Testamur until all outstanding debts and equipment loans have been repaid and returned.
